This strain showed extremely high extracellular activity towards alginate, and exhibited extraordinary metabolic ability to degrade brown algae. Notably, the phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences suggested that Alg07 might be a novel species within Bacillus genus. In order to elucidate the metabolic capability and ecological adaptation with respect to brown algae degradation, we have sequenced the complete genome of Bacillus weihaiensis Alg07.</long_description><repository>ENA</repository><description_synonyms>strain, Sprain, cultivar, Strains, whole genome, Sprains, Strains and Sprains, ecotype, Strain, Genomes.</description_synonyms><name_synonyms>strain, Sprain, Strain., cultivar, Strains, Sprains, Strains and Sprains, ecotype</name_synonyms></additional><is_claimable>false</is_claimable><name>Bacillus weihaiensis strain:Alg07</name><description>Bacillus weihaiensis strain:Alg07 Genome sequencing and assembly</description><dates><last_updated>2025-09-24</last_updated><first_public>2017-04-19</first_public></dates><accession>PRJNA323409</accession><cross_references><taxon>1547283</taxon></cross_references></HashMap>
