It homes to the proximal small intestine and induceses diarrhea and malabsoption. Here we established a novel murine G. lamblia infection model and analyzed the tissue and epithelial response and downstream microbial and metabolic effects in the adult host. Overall design: Neonate mice at the age of 3-4 days were orally infected by gavage with 2x10e5 G. lamblia ATCC 5058 (assemblage B, strain GS, clone H7) trophozoites. The infection was monitored by antigen ELISA and quantitative PCR using weekly fecal samples as well as histology. Transcriptional analysis of total gut tissue and isolated intestinal epithelial cells (Lotz et al., JEM, 2006) as well as metabolic analysis in blood, intestinal content and liver tissue were performed in adult animals."],"repository":["ENA"],"description_synonyms":["Transitional Epithelial Cell, Transitional, Squamous Cells, Controlling, preventive therapy, Epithelial Cell, determination, RnBP, adult stage, metazoans, Adenomatous, GlcNAc 2-epimerase, Metazoa., Glandular Epithelial, Squamous, Glandular, Transitional Epithelial, animals, Cell, prevention, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine 2-epimerase, Squamous Epithelial Cells, Cuboidal Glandular Epithelial Cells, RENBP, chemical analysis, Columnar Glandular Epithelial Cells, Animal, Adults, prevention and control, Squamous Epithelial, adult, Epithelial, Animalia, Adenomatous Epithelial Cell, Adenomatous Epithelial Cells, Squamous Cell, reference sample, prophylaxis, Glandular Epithelial Cells, Adenomatous Epithelial, AGE, preventive measures, multicellular animals, Epithelial Cells, control, Transitional Epithelial Cells, Cells, renin-binding protein, assay, Squamous Epithelial Cell, Glandular Epithelial Cell, Controlled"],"name_synonyms":["Transitional Epithelial Cell, Transitional, Squamous Cells, Controlling, preventive therapy, Epithelial Cell, determination, RnBP, adult stage, metazoans, Adenomatous, GlcNAc 2-epimerase, Metazoa., Glandular Epithelial, Squamous, Glandular, Transitional Epithelial, animals, Cell, prevention, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine 2-epimerase, Squamous Epithelial Cells, Cuboidal Glandular Epithelial Cells, RENBP, chemical analysis, Columnar Glandular Epithelial Cells, Animal, Adults, prevention and control, Squamous Epithelial, adult, Epithelial, Animalia, Adenomatous Epithelial Cell, Adenomatous Epithelial Cells, Squamous Cell, reference sample, prophylaxis, Glandular Epithelial Cells, Adenomatous Epithelial, AGE, preventive measures, multicellular animals, Epithelial Cells, control, Transitional Epithelial Cells, Cells, renin-binding protein, assay, Squamous Epithelial Cell, Glandular Epithelial Cell, Controlled"],"additional_accession":[]},"is_claimable":false,"name":"Transcriptional analysis of isolated intestinal epithelial cells (IEC) from adult infected and age-matched control animals","description":"Transcriptional analysis of isolated intestinal epithelial cells (IEC) from adult infected and age-matched control animals","dates":{"last_updated":"2025-09-24","first_public":"2020-04-05"},"accession":"PRJNA623023","cross_references":{"GEO":["GSE148081"],"taxon":["10090"]}}
