Expression data from lung adenocarcinoma mouse tumors

ABSTRACT: To identify altered signal transduction pathways involved in the progression and metastases of Lkb1 deficient lung tumors, we have performed an unbiased microarray analysis of primary and metastatic mouse lung tumors We used microarrays to detail the global programme of gene expression underlying metastatic progression We compared RNA expression profiles from 9 Kras and 9 Kras/Lkb1 primary tumors as well as 17 Kras/Lkb1 metastases (lymph node and distant sites)

In mice, Lkb1 deletion and activation of Kras(G12D) results in lung tumors with a high penetrance of lymph node and distant metastases. We analyzed these primary and metastatic de novo lung cancers with integrated genomic and proteomic profiles, and have identified gene and phosphoprotein signatures associated with Lkb1 loss and progression to invasive and metastatic lung tumors.
