Transcription profiling of Medicago truncatula after salt stress treatment to the root tips and untreated control plants

ABSTRACT: A Salt stress (100mM) was applied to root tips of Medicago truncatula (Jemalong A17 genotype) for 1h. Microarrays were used to compare the transcriptome of these plants (4 replicates) with the transcriptome of control plants, not submitted to the salt stress (4 replicates)

The root apex contains meristematic cells that determine root growth and architecture in the soil. Specific transcription factor (TF) genes in this region may integrate endogenous signals and external cues to achieve this.
