Project description:Purpose: Characterize the gene expression profile of gastrocnemius muscle in wild type, ZEB1 and ZEB2 knock out mice subjected to 36 hours of fasting Methods: RNA sequencing of RNA from total gastrocnemius muscle after 36h of fasting from the three genotypes used in this study: ZEB1-control, ZEB1-KO, ZEB2-control, ZEB2-KO. Males and females were used from the four genotype (ZEB1flx/flx, ZEB1flx/flx;HSACre, ZEB2flx/flx, ZEB2flx/flx;HSACre). Results: Knockout of ZEB1 or ZEB2 results in differential gene expression in atrophic gastrocnemius muscle Conclusions: Comparison of wild type, ZEB1 and ZEB2 KO muscles displayed differential gene expression profiles after fasting
Project description:Transcript data from gastrocnemius muscle from fasted-state male muscle-specific General Control of Amino Acid Synthesis Protein 5 knockout mice (Gcn5 skm-/- ) and wild-type mice (Gcn5skm+/+). We used microarrays to detail the effects of muscle-specific loss of GCN5 on the global program of gene expression in gastrocnemius muscle.
Project description:Extraocular Muscle is Defined by a Fundamentally Distinct Gene Expression Profile. Adult mouse extraocular, masticatory, and hindlimb (gastrocnemius/soleus) muscles of adult mice were compared using Affymetrix microarrays. Data form part of publication: Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA 98:12062-12067, 2001. Keywords: parallel sample

Project description:To understand the role of LSD1 in transcriptional regulation in muscle under glucocorticoid stress, RNA-seq analyses of gastrocnemius and soleus muscles of skeletal muscle-specific LSD1 KO mice (LSD1-mKO mice) and WT mice after dexamethasone were carried out. We found that LSD1 inhibition led to increased expression of muscle atrophy associated genes and slow fiber genes in gastrocnemius muscle but not in soleus muscle.
Project description:Gastrocnemius muscle from Eif6 heterozygous mice and wild-type mice was used in a polysome profiling experiment. Total RNA was extracted from the whole muscle and from monosome/polysome fractions and profiled using Agilent gene expression arrays.
Project description:We isolated total RNA from gastrocnemius muscle of wildtype and muscle-specific Nur77 overexpressing transgenic mice to identify Nur77-mediated changes in gene expression. Findings confirmed changes in genes involved in carbohydrate metabolism and muscle development.
