Project description:We treated horse mammary derived epithelial cells (MDECs) with either a miR-214-3p mimic or a negative mimic control in the presence of the carcinogenic agent DMBA. Over expression of miR-214-3p suppressed cell apoptosis compared to the control, and suggests a potential oncogenic role in breast cancer.

Project description:To investigate machanism of miR-210-3p regulating angiogenic ability of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) in hypoxic conditions, we transfected miR-210-3p mimic to overexpress miR-210-3p in human umbilical vein endothelial cells. We than performed RNA sequencing of miR-210-3p mimic-transfected and control HUVECs under hypoxic conditions to evaluate the transcriptional changes in the miR-210-3p-overexpressing HUVECs.

Project description:To clarify the role of miR-199a-3p in HCC, we carried out a gene expression microarray analysis using HCC cell lines (HLE and HLF) transfected with a miR-199a-3p mimic or a negative control. We found that 819 genes were downregulated (>2-fold) by miR-199a-3p in both cell lines.

Project description:Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a cancer with global impact and largely refractory to current treatments. Novel treatment options are therefore urgently needed. MicroRNAs play important regulatory roles in HCCs and are emerging as promising therapeutic options against HCC. We identified tumor suppressor miRNAs that may attenuate tumor development and contribute to HCC regression. We identified miR-342-3p as a promising tumor suppressor miRNA. To understand how miR-342-3p affects the global landscape of gene expression, we transfected Huh7 human hepatoma cells with either the scramble control, or a mimic for miR-342-3p and performed mRNA expression profiling.
