Loop extrusion by cohesin plays a role in enhancer-activated gene expression early in differentiation
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Cohesin depletion shows that loop extrusion drives enhancer-promoter contact and expression during early differentiation at the alpha-globin locus. CTCF barriers reveal predominantly unidirectional tracking of cohesin from enhancers toward promoters.
