Thommen2010 - Robustness of Circadian Clocks to Daylight Fluctuations: Hints from the Picoeucaryote Ostreococcus tauri
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: This model describes the free-running circadian oscillator of *Ostreococcus tauri* proposed by Thommen et al. (2010). It consists of a minimal transcriptional feedback loop involving the clock genes **TOC1** and **CCA1**, represented by four ordinary differential equations for their mRNA and protein concentrations.
TOC1 activates **CCA1** transcription, whereas CCA1 represses **TOC1** transcription. Translation is modeled as a linear process, while mRNA and protein degradation follow saturating Michaelis–Menten-like kinetics.
The parameter values correspond to the **FR (free-running)** parameter set reported in the last column of Table 1 of the original article. No light-dependent modulation is included, so the model behaves as an autonomous oscillator under constant conditions.
