Plant cell wall and development. Comparison of transcript levels between elongating 5 and 11 day-old plants

ABSTRACT: rs05-11_hypocotyls - hypocotyls - Fine regulation of genes specifically expressed during cell elongation. - Seeds of A. thaliana were sowed on culture medium poured in Magenta boxes. They were allowed to germinate. Plantlets were in vitro for 5 or 11 days and harvested for RNA extraction. Keywords: organ comparison 3 dye-swap - CATMA arrays

ORGANISM(S): Arabidopsis thaliana

Background
Plant growth is a complex process involving cell division and elongation. Arabidopsis thaliana hypocotyls undergo a 100-fold length increase mainly by cell elongation. Cell enlargement implicates significant changes in the composition and structure of the cell wall. In order to understand cell wall biogenesis during cell elongation, mRNA profiling was made on half- (active elongation) and fully-grown (after growth arrest) etiolated hypocotyls.
Results
Transcriptomic ana ...[more]
