Autoregulation of fixK2 gene expression in Bradyrhizobium japonicum

ABSTRACT: Expression data from B. japonicum bll2758::aphII strain (7414) grown micro-oxically. This study includes also the expression data of a fixK2 and a fixJ mutant grown in free-living micro-oxic condition (samples GSM313721 to GSM313734 in GEO record number GSE12491) and the wild type strain grown micro-oxically (samples GSM210246 to GSM210268 in GEO record number GSE8478). B. japonicum bll2758::aphII strain (7414) transcriptome was determined.

Molecular genetics and genomics : MGG 20100604 1

Several essential Bradyrhizobium japonicum genes for a symbiotic, nitrogen-fixing root-nodule symbiosis are positively controlled under micro-oxic conditions by the FixLJ-FixK(2) regulatory cascade. Negative control is exerted by reactive oxygen species at the level of the FixK(2) protein. Furthermore, we noticed that fixK (2) gene expression is increased in a fixK (2) mutant, suggesting that FixK(2) in the wild type has a negative effect, directly or indirectly, on its own expression.
