ABSTRACT: Temporal expression of biofilm and suspension samples from E. coli wild type cultured on glass wool in LB medium. Samples removed after 4, 7, 15, and 24 hr of culturing.

Analysis of the temporal development of Escherichia coli K-12 biofilms in complex medium indicates the greatest differential gene expression between biofilm and suspension cells occurred in young biofilms at 4 and 7 h (versus 15 and 24 h).
