Genome-wide analysis and comparison of E15 and adult rat lateral ventricular choroid plexus epithelial cells.


ABSTRACT: Transcriptome analysis of lateral ventricular choroid plexus epithelial cells of embryonic day 15 (E15) and adult control Sprague-Dawley rats. We analyzed total RNA extracted from plexus epithelial cells from 6 pooled samples (3 E15, 3 adult) using the Illumina HiSeq 2000 platform.

We provide comprehensive identification of embryonic (E15) and adult rat lateral ventricular choroid plexus transcriptome, with focus on junction-associated proteins, ionic influx transporters and channels. Additionally, these data are related to new structural and previously published permeability studies. Results reveal that most genes associated with intercellular junctions are expressed at similar levels at both ages.
