Transcriptional analysis of Leishmania infantum methotrexate resistant strains using full-genome DNA microarrays

ABSTRACT: Transcriptional analysis of the drug resistant strain L. infantum MTX20.5 compared to the wild-type strain The full-genome DNA microarrays includes one 70-oligonucleotides probe for each gene of L. infantum Keywords: drug resistance Two-condition experiment, resistant strain MTX20.5 vs wild-type. Four biological replicates for each strain, independently grown and harvested. One replicate per array

Background
Drug resistance can be complex, and several mutations responsible for it can co-exist in a resistant cell. Transcriptional profiling is ideally suited for studying complex resistance genotypes and has the potential to lead to novel discoveries. We generated full genome 70-mer oligonucleotide microarrays for all protein coding genes of the human protozoan parasites Leishmania major and Leishmania infantum. These arrays were used to monitor gene expression in methotrexate resist ...[more]
