RNA-seq of Mycobacterium smegmatis mc2 155 wild type and helD (MSMEG_2174) deletion strain, exponential and stationary phase cells

ABSTRACT: HelD (MSMEG_2174) is an RNA polymerase interaction partner in Mycobacterium smegmatis. We assume that this protein might be involved in the regulation of gene expression by sensing a level of nucleotides in the cell. To address the role of helD, we generated a deletion strain. Our aim was to see the deferentially expressed genes in the helD knockout to prove that this protein is functionally linked to transcription.
