Early gene expression after YF17D vaccination that is associated with YF17D-specific T cell responses


ABSTRACT: This study investigates the post-vaccination gene expression associated with T cell response and why humoral immunity does not inform cellular responses post-vaccination. The experiment is the transcriptional profiling of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from 12 subjects collected at day 0, day 4, day 7 and day 10 post yellow fever (YF) vaccination.

Viral vaccine development has mostly relied on measuring neutralizing antibody responses to evaluate vaccine immunogenicity. Yet, a compelling body of evidence has now demonstrated that T cell immunity, an integral component of the adaptive immune response, also plays a critical role in controlling acute viral infection.
