Gene expression profile for immature and early mature Salmo salar Lochy strain males
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Early maturation is considered an undesirable trait in salmon farming, with males having higher early maturation rates than females. Thus, the present experimental design aimes to identify genes associated to early maturation ages in Salmo salar Lochy strain males, one of the most productivley efficent salmon strains do to it’s fast-growing rate. The associated genes could be used as early maturation predictors for genomic selection programs.
