Response to salt stress treatment over time in Oryza sativa L. Japonica Nipponbare, RNA-seq dataset

ABSTRACT: Oryza sativa L. Japonica nipponbare seedlings were treated with 300mM NaCl or water, and then samples were taken after one hour, five hours and 24 hours, to assess which genes are differentially expressed over time during salt stress treatment. The results from this dataset are also compared with those from the same samples assayed using RNA-seq.

GIGANTEA recruits deubiquitylases, UBP12 and UBP13, to regulate accumulation of the ZTL photoreceptor complex

Project description:ZEILUPE (ZTL), a blue light photoreceptor with E3 ubiquitin ligase activity, communicates end-of-day light conditions to the circadian clock. To function properly, ZTL protein must accumulate but not destablilize target clock transcription factors before dusk, while in the dark ZTL mediates degradation of target proteins. It is not clear how ZTL can accumulate to high levels in the ligh while its targets remain stable. Two deubiquitylating enzymes, UBIQUITIN-SPECIFIC PROTEASE 12 and UBIQUITIN-SPECIFIC PROTEASE 13 (UBP12 and UBP13), which regulate colock period and protein ubiquitylation in a manner opposite to ZTL, were shown to associate with the ZTL protein complex. Here we demonstrate that the ZTL light-dependent interacting partner GIGANTEA (GI), recruites UBP12 and UBP13 to the ZTL photoreceptor complex.

Transcriptomes profile of Solanum tuberosum (St) and Solanum commersonii (Sc) under cold stress and AtCBF3 overexpression.

Project description:St (common potato) is a freezing sensitive species unable to cold acclimate. The close wild relative Sc is freezing tolerant and able to cold acclimate. Here we compare the cold transcriptome of these two species with different levels of freezing tolerance. We also identify the putative CBF regulons by comparing the transcriptomes of wild type plants with that of 35S::AtCBF3 transgenic lines in both species. Plants were grown in 16:8 photoperiod. Eight hours after dawn, plants were either transfered to cold or kept in the warn. Wild type S. tuberosum and S. commersonii were grown at 2oC for 2h, 24h and 7 days. Wild type plants grown under warm temperatures for 2h was used as control for 2h cold samples; wild type warm grown plants for 24h were used as controls for 24h and 7 days cold samples. Under warm conditions, S. commersonii 35S::AtCBF3 lines were compared to S. commersonii wild type plants (same thing was done for S. tuberosum).

Distinct proteomic responses to multiple abiotic stresses in two rice genotypes

Project description:In the present study, we found that Nipponbare and IAC1131 behave equivalently in response to multiple abiotic stress, which included simultaneous application of drought, salt and temperature stress. At the level of molecular analysis by isotopic labelling quantitative proteomics, 6215 proteins were reproducibly identified and quantified across the two genotypes and three time points sampled. Heat shock proteins, late embryogenesis abundant proteins, and photosynthesis-related proteins were all found to be differentially abundant in response to stress treatments in both Nipponbare and IAC1131.
