Transcription profiling of 57 hepato cellular carcinoma tumoral samples, 3 hepatocellular adenomas, 5 non-tumoral pools


ABSTRACT: A ""Cartes d'Identite des Tumeurs"" (CIT) project from the french Ligue Nationale Contre le Cancer (http://cit.ligue-cancer.net). 65 samples on Affymetrix HG-U133A GeneChips arrays (57 tumoral samples, 3 hepatocellular adenomas, 5 non-tumoral pools). Identification of six subgroups of Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) closely associated with clinical and genetic annotations (esp. risk factors and genetic alterations). Identification of a 16-gene diagnostic predictor of class membership, as well as a 5-gene signature predicting patient prognosis irrespective of HCC sub-group and which outperforms common clinical prognostic markers. Validation of both gene signatures in an independent set of 63 HCC.
