Transcription profiling by array of a mouse model of epileptic tolerance


ABSTRACT: Microarray analysis was performed 24 hr after status epilepticus in mice that had received previously either siezure preconditioning (tolerance) or sham-preconditioning (injury). Transcriptional changes in the CA3 subfield of the hippocampus were analyzed using the Affymetric Mouse 430_2 Genechip.

Preconditioning brain with a sub-lethal stressor can temporarily generate a damage-refractory state.
