Mutations in fumarate hydratase (FH) cause hereditary leiomyomatosis and renal cell carcinoma<sup>1</sup>. Loss of FH in the kidney elicits several oncogenic signalling cascades through the accumulation of the oncometabolite fumarate<sup>2</sup>.
