ABSTRACT: General catalytic methods for free radical-mediated asymmetric transformations have long eluded synthetic organic chemists. Now, NAD(P)H-dependent ketoreductases (KREDs) are repurposed and engineered as highly efficient photoenzymes to catalyse asymmetric radical C-C couplings.
