Tangier disease (TD) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by a variant in the <i>ABCA1</i> gene, characterized by significantly reduced levels of plasma high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and apolipoprotein A-1 (ApoA-I).
