Tetracyclines (TCs) are an important class of antibiotics threatened by an emerging new resistance mechanism─enzymatic inactivation. These TC-inactivating enzymes, also known as tetracycline destructases (TDases), inactivate all known TC antibiotics, including drugs of last resort.
