Populations of Siamese crocodiles (<i>Crocodylus siamensis</i>) have severely declined because of hunting and habitat fragmentation, necessitating a reintroduction plan involving commercial captive-bred populations. However, hybridization between Siamese and saltwater crocodiles (<i>C. porosus</i>) has occurred in captivity.
