How has the field of metastatic breast cancer in bones evolved over the past 22 years?

ABSTRACT: Highlights • This is the first report showing a relatively objective, comprehensive, and quantitative analysis of changes in research hotspots in the field of metastatic breast cancer in bones in the past 22 years.• We found that using different indicators and diverse analyses of the same indicators can widely determine the main clinical practice, clinically related trials, and directions of metastatic breast cancer in bones, the changes in the past 22 years, and the current challenges in the field of breast cancer bone metastasis. For example, we hope that what is currently relatively weak research on metastatic breast cancer in bones should be developed, including finding more valuable potential targets, refining molecular mechanisms, and accelerating the process of clinical application
