Draft Genome Sequence of a Novel Adenovirus Recovered from the Metagenome of Agile Wallabies.

ABSTRACT: Here, we report the draft genome sequence of a novel agile wallaby adenovirus that was detected in the fecal metagenome of agile wallabies. The genome is 31,512 bp long, with a G+C content of 34.4%. Currently, the pathogenic and zoonotic potential of this novel virus is unknown.

Project description:We describe the draft genome of a bovine enterovirus (EV) isolate recovered from sewage in Nigeria. This isolate replicates on both RD and L20B cell lines but is negative for all EV screens in use by the Global Poliovirus Eradication Initiative (GPEI). It contains 7,368 nucleotides (nt) with 50.2% G+C content and an open reading frame (ORF) with 6,525 nt (2,174 amino acids).

Draft genome of Paraburkholderia fungorum sequence type 868 recovered from human synovial tissues.

Project description:Paraburkholderia fungorum is an opportunistic bacteria infrequently associated with human infections. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of P. fungorum strain BF370, recovered from the synovial tissue of a patient in Malaysia. The P. fungorum genome contains a 8,950,957 bp chromosome with a G+C content of 61.8%. Colicin and heavy metal resistant genes were also present in the genome. Conserved sequence indels unique to P. fungorum were observed in the genome. The draft genome was deposited at the European Nucleotide Archive under the sample accession number ERS1776561 and study accession number PRJEB17921.

Project description:We report here the complete genome sequence of a polyomavirus found in a nasal/rectal metagenome of Hipposideros pomona (Pomona leaf-nosed bat). Interestingly, the genetic organization and phylogenetic relationships of the new virus suggest greater similarity to recently discovered fish-associated polyomaviruses rather than to polyomavirus species previously observed in bats.
