Pyrethrins from <i>Tanacetum cinerariifolium</i> are natural pesticides that exhibit high knockdown and killing activities against flying insects such as disease-spreading mosquitoes. Despite the increasing demand for pyrethrins, the mechanism of pyrethrin biosynthesis remains elusive.
