Combined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema (CPFE) is a clinical syndrome characterized by upper lobe emphysema and lower lobe fibrosis manifested by exercise hypoxemia, normal lung volumes, and severe reduction of diffusion capacity of carbon monoxide.
