Biodiversity of the beneficial soil-borne fungi steered by Trichoderma-amended biofertilizers stimulates plant production.

ABSTRACT: The soil microbiota is critical to plant performance. Improving the ability of plant-associated soil probiotics is thus essential for establishing dependable and sustainable crop yields. Although fertilizer applications may provide an effective way of steering soil microbes, it is still unknown how the positive effects of soil-borne probiotics can be maximized and how their effects are mediated. This work aims to seek the ecological mechanisms involved in cabbage growth using bio-organic fertilizers. We conducted a long-term field experiment in which we amended soil with non-sterilized organic or sterilized organic fertilizer either containing Trichoderma guizhouense NJAU4742 or lacking this inoculum and tracked cabbage plant growth and the soil fungal community.
