Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Objective: This study aims to investigate the connection between social capital and sleep duration among older adults in Ghana, as limited research has been conducted to explore this relationship. Methods: This study utilized Wave 2 data from a sample of Ghanaian older adults from the World Health Organization Study on Global AGEing and Adult Health (SAGE). Self-reported data on social capital and sleep duration were compiled. Using ordered logistic regression, the relationship between social capital and sleep duration was examined. Results: Older adults who did not participate in social activities showed the strongest association with the risk of short sleep (p < 0.05). Our study found that older adults who sleep for shorter periods tend to report better sleep
