Opioid withdrawal signs, such as hyperalgesia, are manifestations of opioid use disorder that may contribute to opioid seeking and taking. We have previously identified an association between dorsal raphe (DR) neurons and the expression of hyperalgesia during spontaneous heroin withdrawal.
