Spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a devastating disease with high morbidity and mortality worldwide. We have previously shown that ferroptosis contributes to neuronal loss in ICH mice. The overload of iron and dysfunction of glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPx4) promote neuronal ferroptosis post-ICH.
