Improving clinical trial recruitment with warm transfers.

ABSTRACT: During recruitment for a large, decentralized clinical trial for high-risk individuals with COVID-19, respondents were either transferred in real-time to a clinical research coordinator (i.e. warm transfer), or a callback time was arranged. A retrospective analysis was conducted on 2341 respondents comparing the rate of enrollment among those who were warm-transferred and those for whom a callback was arranged. A respondent who warm-transferred was significantly more likely to enroll in the clinical trial.
