We present a genome assembly from an individual female <i>Gymnoscelis rufifasciata</i> (the double-striped pug; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Geometridae). The genome sequence is 352 megabases in span. The majority of the assembly (99.82%) is scaffolded into 32 chromosomal pseudomolecules, with the W and Z sex chromosomes assembled.
