Association of Hospital Bed Turnover With Patient Outcomes in Digestive Surgery.

ABSTRACT: To determine the influence of hospital bed turnover rate (BTR) on the occurrence of complications following minor or major digestive surgery.

Methods

A nationwide retrospective cohort study was conducted, based on generalized estimating equation modeling to determine the effect of hospital BTR on surgical outcomes, adjusting for patient mix and clustering within 631 public and private French hospitals.
