<i>Myrrophis</i> (<i>Enhydris</i>) <i>chinensis,</i> also known as the Chinese water snake, has been used for medicinal purposes, such as the treatment of ailments involving fever, headache, and joint pain. The complete mitochondrial genome of <i>M. chinensis</i> was assembled using next-generation sequencing.
