ABSTRACT: We present a genome assembly from an individual female Myopa tessellatipennis (Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Conopidae). The genome sequence is 249.3 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into four chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the assembled X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 18.3 kilobases in length.

Project description:Artemisia sylvatica Maximowicz 1859 is one of the medicinal herbs in Artemisia. This study presents the complete chloroplast genome of A. sylvatica, sequenced using the Illumina NovaSeq platform. The genome is 151,161 bp in length, featuring a GC content of 38%. It consists of a large single-copy (LSC) region of 82,892 bp, a small single-copy (SSC) region of 18,353 bp, and two inverted repeat (IR) regions of 24,958 bp each. In total, the genome contains 132 genes, including 87 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis positions A. sylvatica within the subgenus Artemisia, highlighting its evolutionary relationships within this diverse genus. The first chloroplast genome of A. sylvatica was reported in this work contributes to the enrichment of genomic data for the genus Artemisia.

Length of the complete mitochondrial genome of grey-headed parrotbill is 17,743 bp, and it contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 2 ribosomal RNA genes (12S rRNA and 16S rRNA), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNA), and a D-loop sequence. The overall base composition of the mitochondrial sequence was 29.47% A, 14.68% G, 24.33% T, 31.52% C. All tRNAs have the typical cloverleaf structure, except for tRNASer . All PCGs start with ATG codons, except for COXI and NADH6, which are initiated by GTG and CTA, respectively.

Project description:Androctonus mauritanicus is a large scorpion indigenous to North Africa. Notable for its extremely potent venom, it is responsible for several human deaths a year. We present the whole genome sequence of this species. Illumina sequencing was performed on a genetic sample from a single wild-caught individual. The reads were assembled using a de novo method followed by a finishing step. The raw and assembled data are publicly available via GenBank: Sequence Read Archive (SRR10738938) and Assembly (GCA_011317285).
