<i>Eucalyptus</i> snout beetles are a complex of at least eight cryptic species (Curculionidae: <i>Gonipterus scutellatus</i> complex), native to mainland Australia and Tasmania, that defoliate <i>Eucalyptus</i> trees and are considered important pests.
