Trehalose phosphorylase as a novel potential allergen in a case of allergic reaction due to oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) ingestion.


ABSTRACT: To our knowledge, we present the first case report of allergic reaction from oyster mushroom ingestion, which was confirmed by an oral food challenge test. Trehalose phosphorylase was identified as a novel potential allergen by IgE immunoblotting and mass spectrometry.
