Primary amebic meningoencephalitis (PAM) is a rare, but almost always fatal, central nervous system infection caused by <i>Naegleria fowleri</i>, which are thermophilic free-living amoeba. Here, we report the first case of PAM detected in South Korea, probably imported from Thailand.
