YTHDF2 has been extensively studied and typified as an RNA-binding protein that specifically recognizes and destabilizes RNAs harboring N<sup>6</sup>-methyladenosine (m<sup>6</sup>A), the most prevalent internal modification found in eukaryotic RNAs.
