ABSTRACT: In the title hydrated salt, C₅H₅Cl₂N₂ ⁺·C₆H₄NO₃ ^-·H₂O, the pyridine N atom of the cation is protonated and an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond is observed in the anion, which generates an S(6) ring. The crystal packing features N-H⋯N, O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O, C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which generate a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(4)H(6)N(3) (+)·C(7)H(4)NO(5) (-)·H(2)O, inter-molecular N-H⋯N, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions into almost planar sheets parallel to (102). These hydrogen-bonded sheets are packed into the crystal with the formation of centrosymmetric voids of 68 Å(3), which are filled by the water mol-ecules, each of which is disordered over four positions.

Project description:In the title hydrated salt, C(6)H(9)N(2)O(+)·C(14)H(9)O(3) (-)·H(2)O, the dihedral angle between the benzene rings of the 2-benzoyl-benzoate anion is 82.04 (14)°, while the angles between the aromatic ring of the pyridinium cation and each of the benzene rings of the anion are 4.42 (14) and 82.04 (14)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network with R(2) (2)(8), R(6) (6)(16) and R(4) (4)(6) motifs. The crystal packing is further stabilized by two π-π inter-actions, one between pyridinium rings, and another between the benzene benzoate and pyridinium rings of neighbouring mol-ecules, with centroid-to-centroid distances of 3.559 (2) and 3.606 (2) Å, respectively.

Project description:The title hybrid compound, (C5H5N2Cl2)2[SnCl6]·2H2O, was synthesized and its structure was identified by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure is non-polymeric (0D) in terms of containing isolated [SnCl6]2- polyhedra. The special position (0,0,0) of the SnIV atom in the crystal structure gives rise to a stacking structure with alternating cationic and anionic layers parallel to (001). The water mol-ecules are inter-calated between these layers, which are linked by cation-anion hydrogen bonds and dominant non-covalent inter-actions. The stability of the three-dimensional network for this compound is also discussed.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C(5)H(6)ClN(2) (+)·C(7)H(5)O(6)S(-), contains two independent 2-amino-5-chloro-pyridinium cations and two independent 3-carb-oxy-4-hy-droxy-benzene-sulfonate anions. In both anions, the O atoms of the sulfonate group are disordered over two sets of positions, with occupancy ratios of 0.47 (5):0.53 (5) and 0.50 (8):0.50 (8). In each anion, an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond generating an S(6) motif is observed. In the crystal structure, the cations and anions are linked via N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to (110). The structure is further stabilized by π-π inter-actions between cations and anions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5454 (12) Å]. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin, with a ratio of the twin components of 0.715 (3):0.285 (3).

The 3-carb-oxy-4-hy-droxy-benzene-sulfonate anions self-assemble via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, leading to supra-molecular chains along the a axis. These chains and R(2) (1)(6) motifs are linked via O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a layer parallel to the ac plane. There is also an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond in the 3-carb-oxy-4-hy-droxy-benzene-sulfonate anion, generating an S(6) ring motif.

Project description:In the crystal of the title hydrated mol-ecular salt, C8H12NO(+)·Cl(-)·H2O, the water mol-ecule makes two O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, generating [010] zigzag chains of alternating water mol-ecules and chloride ions. The cation is bonded to the chain by an O-H⋯O hydrogen bond and two weak C-H⋯Cl inter-actions. Weak aromatic π-π stacking [centroid-centroid separation = 3.5175 (15) Å] occurs between the chains.

Project description:The title salt, C8H12NO(+)·Br(-)·H2O, is isomorphous with the chloride analogue [Seethalakshmi et al. (2013). Acta Cryst. E69, o835-o836]. In the solid state, the cations, anions and water mol-ecules are inter-linked by a network of O-H⋯O, O-H⋯Br and C-H⋯Br inter-actions. The water mol-ecule makes two O-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds, generating [010] zigzag chains of alternating water mol-ecules and bromide anions. The cation is involved in two inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl inter-actions in the chloride salt, whereas three inter-molecular C-H⋯Br inter-actions are observed in the title bromide salt. This additional inter-molecular C-H⋯Br inter-action links the adjacent water and bromide zigzag chains via cationic mol-ecules. In addition, weak π-π stacking inter-actions are observed between pyridinium rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5664 (13) Å].
