Highly regioselective 6-exo-dig iodo/bromo cyclizations of functionalized 5-amino propargyl pyrimidinones: an efficient synthesis of functionalized pteridines.

ABSTRACT: The manuscript describes the highly regioselective 6-exo-dig iodo/bromo cyclization of functionalized N-propagyl-amino-pyrimidinones under ambient conditions. The cyclization afforded functionalized pteridines in excellent yields. The optimized procedures are mild, operationally simple and working successfully with different substrates. The synthesis of functionalized pteridines is of great significance because of their potential pharmacological profile.
