Phosphatidylglycerol (PG) is a mitochondrial phospholipid required for mitochondrial cristae structure and cardiolipin synthesis. PG must be remodeled to its mature form at the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) after mitochondrial biosynthesis to achieve its biological functions.
