Correlation between triglyceride glucose index and collateral circulation formation in patients with chronic total occlusion of coronary arteries in different glucose metabolic states.

ABSTRACT:

Background

To investigate the correlation between triglyceride glucose index (TyG) and collateral circulation in patients with chronic total occlusion (CTO) of coronary arteries in different glucose metabolic states.

Methods

A total of 681 patients who underwent coronary angiography between January 2020 and December 2021 to determine the presence of CTO lesions in at least one major coronary artery were retrospectively included in this study. Patients were categorized into a group with poor collateral circulation formation (Rentrop grade 0-1, n = 205) and a group with good collateral circulation formation (Rentrop grade 2-3, n = 476) according to the Rentrop scale.
