Crystal structures of two formamidinium hexa-fluorido-phosphate salts, one with batch-dependent disorder.

ABSTRACT: Syntheses of the acyclic amidinium salts, morpholino-formamidinium hexa-fluorido-phosphate [OC₄H₈N-CH=NH₂]PF₆ or C₅H₁₁N₂O⁺·PF₆ ^-, 1, and pyrrolidinoformamidinium hexa-fluorido-phosphate [C₄H₈N-CH= NH₂]PF₆ or C₅H₁₁N₂ ⁺·PF₆ ^-, 2, were carried out by heating either morpholine or pyrrolidine with triethyl orthoformate and ammonium hexa-fluorido-phosphate.
