Liver can sense the nutrient status and send signals to other organs to regulate overall metabolic homoeostasis. Herein, we demonstrate that ketone bodies act as signals released from the liver that specifically determine the distribution of excess lipid in epididymal white adipose tissue (eWAT) when exposed to a ketogenic diet (KD).
