Two new species of the Phaoniaboleticola-group (Diptera, Muscidae, Phaoniinae) from China.

ABSTRACT: Two new species of Phaonia are described: Phaoniaagitata Zhou & Wei, sp. nov. and Phaonianujiangensis Zhou & Wei, sp. nov., which were collected from Guizhou and Yunnan provinces of southwestern China and are assigned to the boleticola-group. A key to the species of this group is provided. The type specimens are deposited in the Wei Lianmeng Model Worker Innovation Studio, Anshun, Guizhou, China (WLMWISAGC).

A new genus of the Hypocera group (Diptera, Phoridae), with descriptions of two new species from China.

Project description:A new genus, Sinogodavaria gen. nov., with two new species, S. multiformis sp. nov. and S. tenebrosa sp. nov., is described from China. Project description:The Lispe longicollis species-group is revised. Lispe ethiopicasp. n. is described. The following 3 new synonyms are established: Lispe assimilis Wiedemann, 1824 (syn: cyrtoneurina Stein, 1900 and modesta Stein, 1913); Lispe manicata Wiedemann, 1830 (syn: forficata Kurahashi & Shinonaga, 2009). Female of Lispe microptera Seguy, 1937 is described for the first time. Identification key for known Eurasian and African species is given.

A new genus and species of Coenosiini from Costa Rica (Diptera, Muscidae, Coenosiinae).

Project description:Palpilongus gen. n. is herein described for one species - Palpilongus bifurcus sp. n., from Costa Rica, based on male and females. The striking morphological characters of the species - palpus very long, about as long as prementum; upper calypter truncate and very short and setae of male sternite 5 bifurcated, confirm that this new species is also a new genus in the tribe Coenosiini. Male and female terminalia were dissected and illustrated.

Project description:Two new species of Stenochironomus Kieffer (Diptera: Chironomidae: Chironominae), Stenochironomusbrevissimus sp. n. and Stenochironomuslinanensis sp. n., are described from China and the male imagines are illustrated. Stenochironomusbrevissimus sp. n. can be separated from the so far known species by having very short and small, spatulate superior volsella with two long setae, whereas Stenochironomuslinanensis sp. n. is easily separated from the other species of Stenochironomus by the following characters: wings transparent, body yellow, superior volsella finger-like, with nine long setae, elongated inferior volsella with four long setae and one well developed terminal spine; tergite IX with 10-15 long setae medially. A key to the males of Stenochironomus occurring in China is given.

New records of Muscidae (Diptera) from Mediterranean countries.

Project description:New records are provided for Muscidae from four different Mediterranean countries, with new distribution records for species in ten different genera. Seven species are newly recorded for Croatia, four species for Montenegro and one species for Bosnia & Herzegovina. In this paper we give the first confirmation of an aquatic larval stage for Lispocephalabrachialis (Rondani, 1877), Lispocephalaspuria (Zetterstedt, 1838) and Lispocephalamikii (Strobl, 1893). A first record of the species Coenosialyneborgi Pont, 1972 since its original description is also provided.
