ABSTRACT: By comparing indolent/slowly progressing with aggressive/rapidly progressing tumor types, Pandey et al. identify human evidence of immune equilibrium in indolent tumors and immune escape in progressing tumors, suggesting a link between these mechanisms and the epidemiologic phenomenon of overdiagnosis.
