Repetitive sequences form a substantial and still enigmatic part of the mammalian genome. We isolated repetitive DNA blocks of the X chromosomes of three species of the family Bovidae: <i>Kobus defassa</i> (KDEXr sequence), <i>Bos taurus</i> (BTAXr sequence) and <i>Antilope cervicapra</i> (ACEXr sequence).
